This is a very exciting time for those of us working on The Life Center project. Our vision of helping foster children is beginning to take shape. Up until now only a handful of people have known about the vision. Now we are starting to reach out into the community for needed resources. The time, talent and enthusiasm contributed by our volunteers is inspiring. Their efforts are what has moved this vision to its current status and what will soon move it to an actual facility. We appreciate everyone who supports our goal of helping foster children. Here is a summary of where we now stand.

A viable Business Plan has been written from the start up perspective of caring for 5-8 foster children.

We are working with CCTCP (community contribution tax credit program) which allows businesses in Florida a 50% sales tax refund for a donation to TLC. We need to locate a piece of land (with or without a building) in Hernando County in order to fully utilize this program.

We are part of a vehicle donation program. Please check out the vehicle donation program on this site or call 1-(877)-227-7487 ex-2063. Please pass this information along to others who might be interested. This is an important program for us as it does not relay on TLC volunteers to administer the program. It works all over the US, so you can help from your city. See our link for more information.

TLC Board member Carolyn Timmons recently hosted a very successful fund raiser pageant. She is very involved encouraging young people in the community. We are hoping this becomes an annual event in the town of Brooksville. Thank you Carolyn.

TLC volunteers Silvia and Miguel recently hosted another successful fundraiser through Pampered Chief. They are very supportive of the Life Center and we are very appreciative of them. Thank you Silvia and Miguel.

TLC volunteer from NC, Lori M. has prepared a floor plan with the possibility in mind that we may contract a building as opposed to finding a preexisting one. It is very exciting to see our plans take shape on paper. Thank you Lori.

Our board is a working board. If we don't volunteer our time, the jobs won't get done. We are meeting on a regular basis and moving ahead as fast as possible. Our goal is to help others, but first we need some assistance. If you can contribute anything, even just a word of encouragement, contact us.

The Life Center has the ultimate authority to use contributions made to us at our discretion for purposes consistent with our exempt purposes.
